How Mumbai fits together
Mumbai's property market is set by access to rail, metro and job centres. South Mumbai and the central island carry prestige and the highest prices; BKC and Lower Parel hold the business districts; the western and eastern suburbs trade price for commute; Thane, Navi Mumbai and Panvel offer lower prices further out.
The Aqua Line (Metro 3) is fully operational from Aarey to Cuffe Parade, Lines 1, 2A and 7 serve the suburbs, and partial stretches of Lines 2B and 9 opened in April 2026. Navi Mumbai International Airport began commercial operations in December 2025; the Goregaon-Mulund link road is reported at around 2028.
