How Pune fits together
Pune's prices follow its job centres. Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner and Balewadi sit on the west IT corridor; Kharadi, Magarpatta and Hadapsar serve the east; Pimpri Chinchwad anchors the industrial north. A locality's rate usually tracks its commute to one of these clusters.
The metro is changing that map. Line 2 runs from Vanaz to Ramwadi and the Purple Line from PCMC to Swargate; the Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar line was reported to be opening in early November 2026, though earlier dates slipped. Extensions to Nigdi, Wagholi and Katraj are approved or under construction, with no firm opening dates.
